OAU STUDENTS CRIED OVER CHANGED SCORES The students of Obafemi Awolowo University of the department of AGRICULTURE, EDM(ENVIRONMENTAL AND DESIGN MANAGEMENT) AND PHARMACY lamented over their AEC201 results. The course which was conducted by Dr. Adesiyan and he released a result on Tuesday 13|11|2815. Some of the students jubilated when they first viewed their results on Tuesday and some students cried because of the outcome of the Results. A student of the department of AGRICULTURE put a call to her mother "Mummy, I had " A ", this is my FIRST " A" in OAU". On the following day, which was Wednesday, the story of the results changed as the results was changed. The students lamented while in class when, they heard the change towards their results. Most of the students who had "A'S" before had "D, E and F" variably. The students rushed down to the course coordinator's office and logged their complain. Then the lecturer said

POLICE, RESIDENTS FOIL ATTEMPTED BANK ROBBERY IN ILE-IFE     Attempts by some persons suspected to be armed robbers to attack some commercial banks in Lagere Area of Ile-Ife, Osun State, was, on Monday, foiled by some eagle-eyed residents of the area. Seven commercial banks have branches in Lagere area and the suspected robbers arrived the area about 10am. According to eye witnesses, the robbers, who stormed the area in a Toyota Camry car and a bus, parked near a commercial bank in the area and shot continuously into the air to scare away people. However, policemen attached to the banks and members of the vigilance groups within the vicinity responded with stronger force, forcing the robbers to beat a retreat. “When the robbers arrived Lagere, they parked their vehicles a few meters away from the banks. “You know, about seven commercial banks have branches in the area. WORLD BANK SELECTS OAU, 15 OTHER NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES AS AFRICAN CENTRE  OF EXCELLENCE World Bank has selected sixteen (16) Nigerian universities as African Centre of Excellence. The Centres include ACE in ICT Driven Knowledge Park, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Others are: Centre for Oilfield Chemicals Research (CEFOR), University of Port-Harcourt; ACE for Genomics of Infectious Diseases, Redeemer’s University, Ede; and ACE on Neglected Tropical Diseases and Forensic Biotechnology, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria ACE in Reproductive Health and Innovation went to University of Benin; Centre for Dryland Agriculture, Bayero University, Kano; and Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER), Benue State University, Makurdi. ACE in Applied Informatics and Communication was given to Covenant University, Ota; Centre for Public Health and Toxicological Research (PUTOR), University of Port Harcourt; ACE for Sustainable Power and Energy Development, University of Nigeria Nsukka.

SARS REFORM PUBLIC HEARING ENDS IN LAGOS The Presidential Panel on SARS Reform, which began its public hearing in Lagos on Tuesday, Nov. 13, ended its sitting on Saturday after listening to 36 cases. Temmylive news updates of Nigeria reports that the five-day public hearing had some cases successfully resolved, while one was dismissed as complainants refused to show up. Some other cases were adjourned for panel’s decision and the rest reported to have been settled by necessary authorities. The public hearing, organised by the National Human Rights Commission, came to an end after evaluating the inadequacies of the police as well as members of the public. The panel revealed that failure of some complainants to report as well as bad timing of report of some incidents were challenges in resolving some issues. I want to firstly give thanks to God for this opportunity to serve in the capacity of the National President of The Nigerian institution of Mechanical Engineers~National students  Forum (NIMechE~NSF). I wonder what else is the essence of man than to serve humanity and leave the world better than you met it. I want to also thank the National Chairman Nigeria institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE) Engr (Dr.) Ejilah Robinson for his continuous interest and support to the National Student Forum and Engineering. I want to also appreciate the immediate past President of NIMechE~NSF Aalo Emmanuel and the immediate past excos for how far they have gone and how much success they have achieved so far. A new administration for NIMechE~NSF has gone into motion after the inauguration on Thursday 24 October
