The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, ile-ife, Osun State, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede has given reasons for the delay in the reinstatement of the Students’ Union body. He made this known during a round table discussion with Editors in Chief of all News Agencies on Campus under the aegis of Association of Campus Journalists (ACJ) which was held at the Senate building of the University on Tuesday. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede said the reason for the delay in the reinstatement of the Students’ Union is due to the unworthy precedence left behind by the past Students’ Union leaders. Moment Before She Died!!! About some minutes to 4pm yesterday, I noticed a distant gathering of people beside Bofat Filling station, Mayfair. Then, I decided to peep into the gathering, only to discover that a fatal accident had just happened at the scene and it appeared a female has been severely injured. She had bruises and blood all over. I was yet to confirm the details of the accident but I could figure she needed an urgent medical attention as she grasped for breathe and  struggled to move her arms and legs with the little gust of energy left in her.  Immediately, I and some persons carried her and arranged how to get her to the closest hospital but there was an heavy traffic jam along Mayfair/Lagere road which made it impossible for us to  transport her along that path considering the possible effect of the traffic jam on her time of arrival at the hospital. The tension that ravaged the campus of OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY (OAU) ILE-IFE, OSUN STATE, for a couple of weeks, over threat of a bloody attack by cultists, has subsided with the arrested of leaders of Vikings Confraternity (VC) of ODUDUWA UNIVERSITY, IPETUMODU.  A gang of cultists, under a pseudonymous “Cultists of Aloha clan” had threatened to invade OAU campus Yesterday (Saturday, June 1) “to rain bullets of death, sorrow and grief on innocent students”. Campus and many students fled while those remained on the campus were apprehensive of their safely. OAU Management reacted to the threat in a Statement, signed by the PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER of the University, Mr Abiodun Olanrewaju, in which he assured that security agencies were on top of the situation.
