THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE FUOYE PROTEST TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 10 2019 The issue of Inadequate power supply as been as issue in Nigeria as a whole. The light issue in oye and Ikole is quite appalling. The students have kept quiet for a while but they just can't take it anymore. We are tired of reading in the dark! The students of Fuoye living off campus deserve light. The students went out en masse for the protest! and locked the NEPA office , they then went to the palace of the King of Ikole . Not long after they heard that a student of Ikole who happened to be a class govenor in 100L had been shot dead by the police! “Students came over and they were like they want to see the person that

REASONS FOR THE DELAY IN THE REINSTATEMENT OF THE STUDENTS' UNION -- VC Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede

Image
The Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, ile-ife, Osun State, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede has given reasons for the delay in the reinstatement of the Students’ Union body. He made this known during a round table discussion with Editors in Chief of all News Agencies on Campus under the aegis of Association of Campus Journalists (ACJ) which was held at the Senate building of the University on Tuesday. The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede said the reason for the delay in the reinstatement of the Students’ Union is due to the unworthy precedence left behind by the past Students’ Union leaders. Recalling the fracas that sprung up during the Ibunkun led administration and the mismanagement of funds, he said “if you can remember during the last students’ union administration, the president called a sitting with the parliament while the principal officers were absent which led to the president being beaten up by students.” “And after the suspension of the Stu

THE DEATH OF A FINAL YEAR OAU STUDENT "WENDY"

Image
Moment Before She Died!!! About some minutes to 4pm yesterday, I noticed a distant gathering of people beside Bofat Filling station, Mayfair. Then, I decided to peep into the gathering, only to discover that a fatal accident had just happened at the scene and it appeared a female has been severely injured. She had bruises and blood all over. I was yet to confirm the details of the accident but I could figure she needed an urgent medical attention as she grasped for breathe and  struggled to move her arms and legs with the little gust of energy left in her.  Immediately, I and some persons carried her and arranged how to get her to the closest hospital but there was an heavy traffic jam along Mayfair/Lagere road which made it impossible for us to  transport her along that path considering the possible effect of the traffic jam on her time of arrival at the hospital. By then, she had managed to tell me she was an OAU student, so we considered taking her to Health Center but th
