GREAT IFE STUDENTS' UNION ACTION COMMITTEE ON THE RECENT FLOODING OF TOWN RESIDENCES AND ARREST OF SUSPECTED CAMPUS CULTIST The Action Committee uses this medium to sympathize with mass of students who were victims of the flood that occurred in some areas of Ile-Ife as a result of the heavy downpour that rained yesterday. We are not unaware of the untold hardships faced by students who reside in town before now. The exploitation, transportation crisis, insecurity, cruelty of landlords among many others have been the case before the massive flooding, which must have aggravated the sufferings of town residents due to loss of valuable properties, vital documents and several other items to the disaster. While we can ascertain that many students' properties have been lost to the flood, we are yet to confirm if there was any loss of lives during the period, and we sincerely hope there would be none.We make bold to assert that the disaster is a result of leadership failure and n...

PETITION TO THE VICE CHANCELLOR ON THE HIGH-HANDEDNESS OF AWO HALL PORTERS/ WARDEN STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL Dear Sir, With due regards to your esteemed office, we write this to bring to your notice the bitter, unpalatable and ugly experiences faced by students who reside in Awo Hall and how the Porters have turned themselves into Demi-gods. What should have been described as a peaceful abode of intellectual minds (or castle of great men as our motto depicts) is gradually turning into a banana republic with the constant efforts of Porters to keep harassing, exploiting and oppressing students on baseless reasons. On different occasions, the porters in-charge of Awo hall have preyed on our meekness to humiliate us and make living so unbearable for us. About two weeks ago, some of the porters falsely alleged a student of selling food items in the hostel because of the bulk of food stuff he bought in the market. After several hours of disallowing him from going into his room, they event...

CHECK OUT 10 COSTLY MISTAKES  UNIVERSITY STUDENTS MAKE IN THEIR FIRST YEAR TAKE YOUR TIME TO READ AS YOU SET FOR THE UNIVERSITY #1: Lack of Proper Guide One of the mistakes University students make in their first year is that they don’t have proper guide. As a matter of fact, they behave as if they were the first people to get admitted. Funny enough, some of them think once they see their name on the admission list, that is all. Unfortunately, this has led to the downfall of many students. Some end up dropping out of school. As a rule, what every fresh student should do is to ask intelligent questions about their school, department, and other areas. Therefore, you need to be guided in the following areas as a fresh student; Resumption date Clearance date Required documents Updates on course registration School fees payment deadline Reading pattern Structure of examination question Marking scheme How to avoid missing scripts or absent cases Understanding how to...

WE NEED A RESPONSIBLE LEADER, NOT TEE PAUL _"Evil prevails when good men fail to act"_ The state of our hall, Angola, has risen to the level at which our so called imposed chairman, Tee Paul does not even know the problems not to talk of solutions to numerous problems facing innocent Angolans. Porters, Buttery owners and Attendants in Afrika (canteen) have turned themselves to gods as they continue to decide the fate of Angolans, who should decide whatever happens to them, as they are the major stake holder of the Hall. This strange, oppressive and barbaric attitude of these people can't be disconnected from inept attitude of the self acclaimed Chairman of the _bed rock of OAU militancy_  who most of Angolans have not even seen before because he doesn't even stay in the hall he claims to preside on. He has refused to attend to issues of Angolans despite the wailings and plights of Angolans and as left Angolans in a stay of hopelessness. Porters and Buttery Owners ...

REQUEST TO THE VICE CHANCELLOR ON THE IMMEDIATE OPENING OF ALL GATE LEADING TO AWOLOWO HALL .....What they died defending had been put to scratch, when things fall apart; the center cannot hold.... It is with a humble mind that is unshaken and unwavering that we write to your office on the need to open all gates and entrances leading to AWOLOWO HALL. This has generated into arguments in the hall of residence. Some people have proven your innocence on this issue while some believe the attack on genuine student gathering and suspension activities by your administration was also extended to halls as no portal, warden, master of any hall can do anything in isolation. Mr Vice Chancellor, Awolowo Hall has turned to something else under your watch which negates what you enjoyed when you were in your undergraduate days. What is left for Awoites is for us to get a blue regalia with number on it which will signify us as omo school Are GBENGA or in a sane language prisoners. The three  g...
