WE NEED A RESPONSIBLE LEADER, NOT TEE PAUL

The state of our hall, Angola, has risen to the level at which our so called imposed chairman, Tee Paul does not even know the problems not to talk of solutions to numerous problems facing innocent Angolans. Porters, Buttery owners and Attendants in Afrika (canteen) have turned themselves to gods as they continue to decide the fate of Angolans, who should decide whatever happens to them, as they are the major stake holder of the Hall.

This strange, oppressive and barbaric attitude of these people can't be disconnected from inept attitude of the self acclaimed Chairman of the _bed rock of OAU militancy_ who most of Angolans have not even seen before because he doesn't even stay in the hall he claims to preside on. He has refused to attend to issues of Angolans despite the wailings and plights of Angolans and as left Angolans in a stay of hopelessness.

Porters and Buttery Owners now ride on the fact that the Chairman is not responsible and not also responsive as they continue to oppress, terrorize, exploit poor Angolans. The uncivilized and irrational manners in which Angola Hall Porters are operating is something that needs to be addressed because it against the popular saying of the University authority that the University is a _" 21st Century University"_ . In fact one can easily conclude that these porters are not fit to be in the posts because of their manner of approach to issues. Funnily enough, porters of our hall believe that only non occupants of Angola Hall can steal Angolans' property not minding the fact that we can have individuals who reside in Angola who can be thieves. They are fond of harassing students (occupants and non occupants of Angola Hall) all in the name of asking for ID cards. They in fact, delay Angolans who have gone out to academics because they don't go out with ID cards despite showing them their e-portal page as a proof to support their occupancy. As a custodian of history, the Security Committee of Angola Hall is supposed to be in charge of attending to security issues within the hall but unfortunately for our generation, the self-acclaimed Angola Hall executive or excos' room are not approachable not to talk of the Security Committee that students are supposed to report issues to.

It is no longer news that the porters in Angola Hall just tell students to pick dirt and wash gutters at their wish and you begin to imagine what are the people employed to keep the hall clean doing? A barbaric act these porters are known for is infringing on students' privacy by checking the luggage of Angolans in the name of searching for hot plates used by students who can't afford the filling of gas cylinder because they are victims of the anti-masses policies of the government.

The Buttery Owners and Attendants of Afrika (Canteen) have taken the opportunity of the attack of the University Authority on independent unionism, coupled with the irresponsibility of 'Angola hall executives' to inflate prices of goods in hall. For those who understand how the campus is organized, they will agree with me that, the Leadership of the union regulates price of goods and services on campus but now it's otherwise due to the fact that the acclaimed leadership of the halls are not competent and that most of them are after the bedspace and other self-driven interests.

As a conscious and concerned student, I must say that ours is not to lament, but to understand and provide practical and long lasting solutions to issues on ground. Angolans must understand that if we don't talk on issues that affects us, we will continue to suffer. Angolans must begin to demand for a congress where all Angolans will come around to decide on issues affecting them as that is the starting point on ways to save ourselves from these germane issues. Also, Tee Paul should no longer consider himself as the Hall chairman, after all he was imposed on Angola Hall and he has not been functioning. Angolans should not at anytime be scared of challenging Porters, Buttery Owners, Attendants in Afrika and the acclaimed Hall Chairman himself over any anomalies noticed as this is the only way we can make ANGOLA HALL GREAT AGAIN.
