GREAT IFE WATCH: FURTHER INVESTIGATION ON BIODUN'S MURDER: A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT -CMD, PRO of OAU THC refuse to speak up on I.D card request, though an eye-witness has refuted the claim. -There is no primary eye-witness to the murder, all witnesses are secondary - There is more than one secondary eye-witness - Biodun should have gone home because of his illness but remained in school because of his test. In an intelligence report gotten by _GIW_ through a witness account- we reported earlier. It was stated that Biodun wasn't denied medical attention based on non-provision of I.D card, however he didn't fail to state that there was a shortage of equipment and health staff. Although , the CMD and PRO of OAU THC have refused to pass any comment on the issue (As reported by Premium times). However,  some sources have revealed earlier that I.D card was demanded. Further investigations have revealed,  that there was no primary witness to the murder of Biodun. A primary w

THE DEATH OF ABIODUN: ONE DEATH, TOO MANY!

EDUCATION RIGHTS  CAMPAIGN, ERC,  OAU BRANCH THE DEATH OF ABIODUN: ONE DEATH, TOO MANY! Abiodun's death is a clear indication of the total failure of the Nigerian government and its stooges in administration of tertiary institutions. Again, we condemn the notoriously implemented accommodation policy; it has more agonies in stock! The Education Rights Campaign (ERC) commiserates with the family of Abiodun Babatola who met his untimely death in the hands of cruel armed robbers. We wish that they have the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. We consider the death of Abiodun as a tragic loss that is not only a loss to the family of the deceased,  but the university community and Nigerian students. We cannot but state that the death of Abiodun was an avoidable one but due to administrative recklessness and insensitivity. The events surrounding the death (before and after) can be traced back to our previous agitations on the need to ensure adequate security and welfare of student

WE LIVE IN CONSTANT FEAR OF ROBBERS, SAY OAU OFF-CAMPUS STUDENTS Following the killing of one Abiodun Babalola, a 300-level student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in the early hours of Sunday by armed robbers, many students of the institution living outside the campus have shared their experience in the hands of the men of the underworld, who constantly attack them. Babalola suffered machete cut at an off-campus hostel named, ‘Adam and Eve’, located in Parakin, Ede Road, Ile-Ife, for allegedly refusing to surrender his iPhone to the robbers, who attacked residents of the hostel. Many students of the institution, who spoke to our correspondent on the incident and the plight of many residing off-campus, said areas with large student population often experience frequent attacks by robbers. The areas include Mayfair, AP, Aserifa, Ibadan Road, Ede Road and Parakin. Investigations showed that robbery attacks on students of the university became rampant when squatters were s

SARS REFORM PUBLIC HEARING ENDS IN LAGOS The Presidential Panel on SARS Reform, which began its public hearing in Lagos on Tuesday, Nov. 13, ended its sitting on Saturday after listening to 36 cases. Temmylive news updates of Nigeria reports that the five-day public hearing had some cases successfully resolved, while one was dismissed as complainants refused to show up. WOLE SOYINKA ON PDP DEFECTION

WOLE SOYINKA ON PDP DEFECTION IF APC is not the answer to our Problems, there is no reason going back to the instigators of the problem. I'm not a politician but I would do everything not to have PDP in Government in Nigeria. The greatest tragedy that can befall a nation is for her citizens to suffer collective amnesia. I believe PDP believes Nigerians have short memories, if not, Ibori would not have been included in their convention committee and Jonathan would not have been allowed to talk (He ended up indicting himself as usual anyway). For those who may have forgotten, kindly joggle your memories with the following words on marble and you will agree with me that what happened in Eagle square on saturday was nothing but gathering of rogues. Happy reading: 1. I acted based on Jonathan's instruction - Dasuki 2. I didn't give order - Jonathan 3. I collected 350M from Dasuki for consultation - Iyorchia Ayu 4. I only collected $30,000 from Dasuki not N100m - Bode Ge

HOW I WAS HARASSED, ASSAULTED, AND ARRESTED ON THE ORDER OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS' AFFAIRS BECAUSE OF MY STANCE AGAINST CULTISM IN OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY

Image
HOW I WAS HARASSED, ASSAULTED, AND ARRESTED ON THE ORDER OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS' AFFAIRS BECAUSE OF MY STANCE AGAINST CULTISM IN OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY On the 20th of August 2018, I was at the office of the Dean of Students' Affairs to submit an official letter. On getting to his office, I met some persons who work at the Division of Students' Affairs and I was asked to sit down and wait for the Dean. After waiting for a while, I was asked to go inside his office and he immediately lashed at me upon sighting me by saying "are you Afoo Revo?,  You are the one writing articles online right? Are you ready to bear the burden?" For those who have been following the trend recently, you will agree that I wrote an article titled 'Expose them now, before they explode the University' where I explained how dangerous the silence of the University, over the arrest and release of some suspected cult boys, can be. The Dean (Prof. Isiaka Aransi) immediately sent f

WHY OAU VICE-DEAN PREVENTED THE RUSTICATION OF JOHN UDEH AND 4 OTHER CULTISTS

Image
WHY OAU VICE-DEAN PREVENTED THE RUSTICATION OF JOHN UDEH AND 4 OTHER CULTISTS Finally, the  University Community can heave a sigh of relief after the Suspension of John Ude, Tobi and other 4 cultists from the Institution, especially one that has been notoriously terrorizing the Institution since 2012. But should will be happy yet? Remember John Ude specifically has been suspended before by this same Management, but he continued to terrorize the University by bullying students especially ladies to date him and extort buttery operators, he still maintained a presence on campus and was specifically used by Prof Aransi to disturb Students Union Congresses and to beat up those the management see as threat. From the foregoing, we can conclude that mere suspending these cultists is a cover-up by the management due to several cry from different quarters to discipline the cultists. If they are suspended, are we saying that they would be reinstated without leaving the cult groups? Is there an

OUR WOUND IS YET TO BE HEALED,BECAUSE HISTORIES LIVES ON.

OUR WOUND IS YET TO BE HEALED,BECAUSE HISTORIES LIVES ON.     History will always bring back the good and bad incidents that happened in the past and it will be good to make use of them in a very decent way either to follow them or to develop them.     History, can be put in the position of a wise man,it can also be call an Experience, therefore whatever you have experienced will definitely become history.      Our experience determine how long you have lived (sometimes) and it determine how expose you are to some things. One of Yoruba adage says _"Bi omo koba ba itan aba aroba,Aroba baba itan"_ meaning _"if a child does not meet Story will meet History and History is father of Story "._ therefore histories of what has happen in Our society will never die if there are people who knows about them and what they have experienced will always be in there mind.     This brought my pen on the issue going on Obafemi Awolowo University about the release  of 12 suspected cu
